How do I become a tenant?

We have many different types of properties throughout the City of Aberdeen. These include family homes, homes for couples and single people, sheltered housing for elderly people and amenity housing for people (usually over 55) with particular medical needs. Our Area Housing Information publication will tell you more about which types of accommodation we have in which area of the City.

Anybody aged 16 or over can become a goodapple tenants. There are two ways to do this.

Through the goodapple Accommodation and Advice Service (GAAS)

The goodapple Accommodation and Advice Service (GAAS) deals with applications for goodapple homes. Staff there will be able to give you advice about applying and help you to complete an application form. The length of time between completing an application form and being allocated a home depends on a number of things, including your personal circumstances and where you want to live.

The GAAS is located at the Upperkirkgate side of St Nicholas House. You can telephone the GAAS on 01224 523151 if your surname begins with A - L, or on 01224 523139 if your surname begins with M - Z. You can also email goodappleapplication@aberdeencity.gov.uk

The GAAS is open from 8.30am to 5pm on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday and 11am to 5pm on Wednesday.
